Circular Economy UKRI Keynote Speaker

Today our founder Jacqui Pearce was the key note speaker at a leading UKRI event on the Circular Economy in Birmingham. The Innovate UK Circular Economy Event featured panels and workshops alongside Jacqui’s key note speech on Circular Business Models, built on her work within the Wool Industry. This has included working with the UKRI Circular Network over the past year to contribute to the WOOL ACTION PLAN published in 2023.

She outlined to leaders from multiple sectors from Steel to Beauty and beyond how harnessing circular practice was at the heart of her research and models for driving rural regeneration within the Wool Sector in Wales. This included her work on mapping the Supply Chains and also how she harnessed the passion from farm to finish and built links between the silos of community and commercial practice to achieve common goals.

Her P-Project Model for driving Purpose driven Positive Change and engaging momentum was the element that garnered most interest across all business sectors. Academics discussed the actors in play within the paradigm and how it might be explored further to evoke change.

The day was filled with some incredible conversations and as circular and sustainable marketing practice is at the heart of our work at Melin Media, we are always keen to see how we might work with other like minded companies to deliver positive messaging at the heart of change.

We are utilising our knowledge to create “tool kits” for various sectors, alongside large scale events. Working in collaboration with key academic partners at Cardiff University.
